Explore our range of events and resources designed to support school teachers, career advisors and support staff.

At Murdoch, we appreciate the vital role that you play in helping students prepare for their future at university and beyond. Our dedicated Outreach team is here to support you in guiding students in transitioning to higher education.

We're here to help you explore their future study options, through workshops, development days and visits so they can find out what life is like as a student at Murdoch University.

To support educators, we also offer other events such as the Careers Masterclass for career advisors and teachers who are involved in career guidance.

Careers Masterclass

Each year we run the Careers Masterclass, a fantastic professional development opportunity for teachers, career advisors, year coordinators, school psychologists, student services staff and those involved in career guidance.

The event generally involves a networking breakfast followed by information sessions that explore everything Murdoch University has to offer – from specialist facilities to courses and admission pathways for high school students.

Look out for our 2025 Careers Masterclass.

Activities and resources for your students

Future students engagement

The Future Students team provide a number of free services, from university presentations tailored to specific year groups, to one-on-one course counselling sessions in which we provide guidance to students related to course information and pathways into Murdoch University. We can even organise on-campus visits for groups of students.

To book a workshop, program or event, please contact our team.

Available between August – November each year, this activity is ideal for those teachers looking for learning opportunities that expand on the student’s understanding of what a career is and how it’s impacted by the changing world we live in. It also looks at the importance of self-exploration when making career decisions. It includes a (Non-Murdoch specific) Career Presentation, and a number of workshops run by our Student Ambassadors.

We offer presentations for Year 10 students, Year 11 & 12 (combined) students, and pathway sessiosns for non-ATAR students.

The Year 10 presentation provides a general introduction to university (why go to university, key terms, study timetable etc.). It also provides some general information about Murdoch University. This includes an overview of our study areas (and relevant information for subject selection).

This Year 11 & Year 12 presentation is an introduction to Murdoch University, course information and admission pathways (ATAR and Non-ATAR). Information provided in this presentation is more specific and detailed than the Year 10 session.

The Pathways Presentation is similar however, it only explores alternative pathways for ATAR or Non-ATAR students. These are also explored in a little more depth and includes pathways such as our Enabling Courses, VET pathway, Portfolio Pathway etc.

We can provide one-on-one (15 minutes) course counselling sessions at the school to discuss course information and pathways into Murdoch University. Parents are welcome to join the session if they wish.
We are available to attend any school expos or parent information evenings that you may have coming up this year.
This presentation is perfect for parents and supporters where we go through career and university options, address the key facts and barriers that may present to our students and the support options available through out their transition.
We are happy to welcome small groups of students or even whole cohorts on-campus. These visits can include a campus tour, interactive activities and a presentation.
