The Mike Schultz Memorial Biodiversity Scholarship
This scholarship is in memory of Mike Schultz who was devoted to protecting our natural environment. This scholarship continues his work by inspiring the next generation of budding conservationists, naturalists, and environmentalists in their pursuit of knowledge.
Eligibility
To apply for this scholarship you must:
- be an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident
- demonstrate academic achievement and a commitment to following a career in the field of biodiversity
- be enrolled in a Science honours or Masters within the field of Biodiversity at Murdoch University:
- Honours: Animal Science, Animal Health, Biological Science, Conservation & Wildlife Biology, Environmental Management & Sustainability, Environmental Science, Marine Science
- Masters: Environmental Science
- Preference will be given to applicants from areas covered by the Peel-Harvey catchment area, and/or to applicants undertaking a thesis within a Peel-Harvey catchment area, and/or to applicants that can demonstrate a strong connection to the Peel Harvey catchment area.

Required Documents
This scholarship requires you to provide the following documents:
- completed application form
- supporting documentation such as transcripts and reference/s
- personal statement of 300 words maximum outlining:
- your commitment to following a career in the field of biodiversity
- your academic achievement
- how the scholarship will assist you to be successful in your studies
- your link to Peel-Harvey region where applicable
Payment Method
Payments will be made directly into your nominated bank account in the following instalments:
- $2,500 in week 7 or 8 of the semester you are awarded
- $2,500 in week 7 or 8 of the consecutive second semester
All payments are subject to your ongoing acceptance and compliance with the terms and conditions of the award.
